Composite Window Basics
Composite windows are made from a variety of materials, although the two main ingredients tend to be vinyl and wood. Every manufacturer that offers a composite frame uses a proprietary mix of ingredients to produce their composites and offers this includes a trademarked name etc. For instance, the Andersen 100 is called Fibrex and is a mix of wood or compressed wood and vinyl that is then extruded into their Fibrex blend.

Estimated Installation Cost
Typical installation will run somewhere between $50 and $150 per window for installation. The biggest factor is the overall condition of the window frame and whether and repair or replacement work must be done to the existing sills or frame. Full frame installation means ripping out the sills and frame to get down to the rough opening and then building everything back up. This is a good size job and can run as much as $250 per opening.
Pocket Install: $50 to $75 per opening
Standard Install: $100 to $150 per opening
Full Frame Installation: $175 to $250 per opening
