Aluminum Window Costs
Aluminum window costs range from $400 to $1100 for a double hung and standard installation. They are similar to fiberglass frames in terms of price, although they are more popular and used more often. Cost will depend on the window size, the manufacturer, the model or series and the options on the glass package and hardware.
Entry Level Aluminum Windows (Without Installation)
Entry level pricing involves a lower end aluminum extrusion and an overall window without the bells and whistles you can expect on the mid range and high end models. This typically includes a lower end low-e glass package, limited frame color options and features. Lower priced models will often be a slider or single hung. The prices below are for a normal size double hung with normal installation.

Mid Range Aluminum Windows (Without Installation)
Mid range pricing will often be a more substantial extrusion (possibly with sash reinforcements) with several nice upgrades such as vent stops, better locking mechnism, weep hole covers etc. Expect a nicer glass option and fills. They should be more color and finish options for the frame and better hardware. Mid grade options will incorporate a bigger selection, including casements and double hungs.

High End Aluminum Windows (Without Installation)
Premium products should have the highst quality extrusion with reinforced sash and excellent design. Expect a high end glass with an top end low-e option and fills. Also expect top of the line upgrades and a plethora of options on the frame color, finish and hardware.

Installation Cost
Installation cost will start at $50 to $75 for simple pocket or insert installation. The average cost of window installation that involves removing the sills will run $100 to $150 and full frame replacement where the stops, sill and jambs will be replaced will run $175 to $250. Of course, every project is different and involves a unique set of install steps so getting multiple estimates is the best way to find out what method you will need.
Fully Installed Entry Level Aluminum Window
Low end aluminum windows will run $275 to $500 per window installed. Some examples in this price point include the Builder Series and the Siteline EX from Jeld Wen.

Mid range aluminum windows will run $500 to $750 per window installed. Some examples in this price point include a Don Young window or the WinGuard from PGT.

High end aluminum windows will run $300 to $500 per window installed. Some examples in this price point include the Premium Atlantic Series from Jeld Wen or the Pella Design Series.
