PGT Windows Cost And Quotes
PGT Custom Windows And Doors is a Venice, Florida based manufacturer of both impact and non impact windows and patio doors. The company has been in business since 1980 and is well known throughout the state for their quality products and most especially their impact windows. Scroll down for a basic description of each series, along with ratings, consumer reviews and PGT windows cost on each.
The company sells three main product lines, including the WinGuard, EnergyVue, and ClassicVue Max series. While PGT keeps things relatively simple with their 3 series, there individual naming series is confusing. Under each fo their series we have included the styles offered, along with the rather confusing “number” that they use to label their windows. Hopefully, hits makes sense.

PGT WinGuard Windows And Doors
The PGT WinGuard is an impact series that is available in both vinyl and aluminum options. The WinGuard is a tough, nice looking impact window/door, which can't be said for all that many hurricane strength options out. This series comes in a number of different options that we will list here (along with the rather confusing model number).

WinGuard Replacement Windows Question
We're replacing just 5 total windows and are upgrading from non impact to impact windows due to the codes here in Florida. upgrade to impact windows here on the coast of Florida. Currently, I am debating between Custom Window Systems and PGT WinGuard. Pricing wise, they are very close to one another with the WinGuard coming in at $1635 a piece for the CA5540 casement and CWS at $1615 each for the Hurricane Guard casement.

Pamela, both CWS and PGT are well regarded impact window manufacturers in the state of Florida. Quality wise, they are very close with the edge in my opinion going to PGT (I also prefer their overall look to CWS). For me, this would have to come down to the installation company that will do the work. You have two strong products that are very close in quality and price. Now, you need to do the installation company comparison. By the way, the price points for each seem quite fair.

This series is quite nice looking and fairly streamlined for an energy efficient vinyl window. PGT SH 5500 Vinyl vs Apex Insignia
Hi there, looking for either single or double hung windows -- one of my windows is a big picture window that is going to be expensive. So far, I have received three bids from local companies and I have no idea what to do. As an aside, I felt very comfortable with each of these companies - there was no high pressure sales from them and I thought their salesperson was pleasant.
We live in Tampa Florida and we are replacing the original aluminum single-pane, single hung windows from the early 1990s. All of the price quotes below are broken up into the total price quote and the installation cost involved with each.

Don, those are very different bid prices. First off, I do really like the PGT SH 5500 and 5400 series, as well as the Apex Insignia options. All good quality windows. The price difference between Carrollwood and West Coast is crazy. I wouldn't be able to pull the trigger on the West Coast bid myself.
However, I don't love Carrollwood's online reviews all that much either. If they could convince me that their installation quality is top notch, then I would pull the trigger for them. If not, I'd go with the Apex option.

This series. should not be considered an entry level product and will typically not be priced as such.
