Polaris Window Costs In 2026

Polaris Windows is not exactly a house hold brand. Within the window and door space, however, the company is well respected (at least by those who care about quality vinyl windows and doors). The company is headquartered in Ohio and has been in business since 1959. Polaris is owned by a company called Modern Builders Supply, which has been buying up a number of home improvement companies over the past decade. Window And Patio Door Options

The company sells four window and patio door options. Specifically, this includes their new construction Edge series, their entry level DynaWeld series, their mid range ThermalWeld series, and their premium ThermalWeld Select series. Truthfully, though, I really only hear about the ThermalWeld Plus and ThermalWeld Select.

Both of these are very good units, with the premium Select having the more robust frame, as well as an upgraded lock and tilt system. Big thumbs up for either of these options if the price is right.

Polaris Windows Prices

So, let’s talk price. This is so hard to guesstimate, but for a medium sized double hung with with insert installation, you might be paying $750 installed for the ThermalWeld Plus. Often, Polaris window prices will be pretty reasonable when compared to the other high end vinyl windows and manufacturers such as Soft-Lite, Okna, and Anlin.

As such, Polaris windows and doors offers some excellent value in the marketplace. Of course, this depends on the actual bid(s) you receive. Because bids come from local dealers, there’s lots of variability. This is why we always recommend collecting a handful of bids and then doing a real apples to apples comparison.

Polaris Windows Warranty

Warranty Coverage Polaris Warranty Details
Frame And Sash Lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects for the original homeowner.
Insulated Glass Unit 30 year warranty against manufacturing defects and seal failure.
Transferability Transferable to one subsequent homeowner. The transferred warranty remains in effect for 10 years from the date of title transfer.
Overall Assessment Above average lifetime warranty with a transferable provision that is comparable to many other replacement window manufacturers.

Polaris offers a pretty fair lifetime warranty on their windows and patio doors. Specifically that they are free from manufacturing defects. The company warrants their insulated glass units for 30 years. Consumers can transfer the Polaris windows warranty to another owner. However, the new owner’s warranty is only good for 10 years from when the title transfers. In truth, this is often how they pare down their warranty responsibilities, but Polaris is hardly alone in this approach.

"We're going to be getting new windows for our home soon. Someone recommended the Ideal UltraWeld to replace our double hungs. I can't find a lot of info about these online. I did find something about a Polaris UltraWeld but I'm not sure if it's the same window. It looks nice in person, with a thin profile which I like. As far as price and energy efficiency and all that, it seems to be pretty average. It isn't the best or the worst, not the cheapest of the most expensive. I'd like to get a few opinions before we buy."

Editor's Advice:

The Polaris and the Ideal are not the same thing. Polaris is a very solid choice - Ideal is, at best, a mediocre product. They have a flimsy frame and don't hold up as well as windows that are priced at an even slightly higher price point. Look for a product with a U-factor of under .30 and also look at AI numbers. Ideal is a bargain window, and it just doesn't compare to Okna, Soft Lite, or Sunrise.
