Wood window costs range from $300 to $1200 for a double hung with standard installation. The reason for this huge price difference is due to the huge number of options in terms of window size, quality of manufacturer, glass package, upgrades and the method of installation required.
Entry Level Wood Windows (Without Installation)
Entry level pricing will range from $200 to $325 for the window itself. These will be sold through either a big box store like Home Depot or their independent distributors or reps. The frame may be thinner than a mid range or high end product and the glass package might be a low end low-e or clear glass. You should expect limited upgrades to the overall design, limited exterior cladding colors and finishes and a lower end hardware package.

Homeowners can expect some nice upgrades from the entry level products and more options as far as frame colors, finishes and hardware.
